Diana J. Hakim

I'm a software developer and cybersecurity student based in Atlantic Canada, focused on building reliable systems, secure infrastructure, and clean applications from the ground up. My technical background spans full-stack programming, offline-first mobile apps, custom web platforms, and database architecture.

With an IT Programming diploma from NSCC and advanced coursework through Toronto Metropolitan University's Cybersecurity, Data Protection, and Digital Forensics program, I bridge the gap between building software and securing it. I prefer working through clear cause-and-effect design, whether that means architecting resilient tools, configuring networks, or tracing digital evidence.

Most of my work starts as a need I actually have, then gets built to a standard I would be willing to maintain. The three projects below are the longest-running pieces of that work — each one grew out of real requirements rather than a tutorial, and each shipped with documentation and a written breakdown of the decisions behind it.

They span a Game Boy title written in C, a forensics and compliance toolkit in Go, and an offline-first Android point-of-sale system in Kotlin. Different stacks, same approach: design for the failure case, keep the architecture honest, and leave the code readable to whoever picks it up next.
